Opened in 1980 the Dorgali Archaeological Museum has been in via Lamarmora since 1987, situated next to the primary school.
The finds on display tell the history of the archaeology of the Dorgali area from the Neolithic to modern times. Much important information has come from the exploration of underground caves but chance surface finds from throughout the territory and private collections have allowed us to gain a fuller picture of the local archaeology. The picture is completed by archaeological excavations, especially those of the Nuragic/Roman site of Nuraghe Mannu and the fascinating Tiscali.
The displays in the museum are organised chronologically in three small rooms and focus on the sites you can visit (The Bue Marino Cave, Serra Orrios Nuragic village, S’Ena ‘e Thomes Giant’s Tomb, Nuraghe Mannu village and the Ispinigoli cave).
